Greenkeepers’ Pay Rises

Minimum wage increases ranging from 9s 5d to 9s lid are provided for in an award for greenkeepers employed by golf clubs and other sports bodies, newly issued by the Court of Arbitration. The new weekly rates for head greenkeepers are £l6 for sole greenkeepers £l5 7s 6d, and for other greenkeepers £l4 ss. There is also an increase of 3d an hour to 7s 3d for casual or part-time employees. The award ratified conciliation agreement.
