YE OLDEST INN
Americans Interested (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, October 28. Britain’s oldest inn—Ye Old Belle, at Hurley, Berkshire—could soon become Americanowned. The inn, built in 1135 as a guest house for a nearby Benedictine monastery, will be auctioned on Thursday. A spokesman for the auctioneers said today: “We have had several inquiries from prospective buyers in America. I understand they will be represented at the auction. The inn could be expected to have a great appeal for Americans.”
