OTTAWA, October 30
A Canadian flag design of a single red maple leaf on a white ground with a vertical red bar at each side was recommended to the House of Commons here today by the flag committee. The committee also proposed that the Union Jack be flown as the symbol of Canada’s membership in the Commonwealth and allegiance to the Crown. The Anal vote In the committee for the design of a single red maple leaf was 10 to 4.
