BLACKPOOL, October 30
Six feet of the war-time ‘Siam death railway” arrived here today after a 10.000mile journey from the Thai-land-Burma border. The rails, sent by the Thailand State Railway, will have a place of honour at a national reunion of former Far Eastern prisoners-of-war on Saturday. They once formed part of the 200-mile-long BurmaSiamese railway built to Japanese orders with the forced labour of thousands of British and allied war prisoners and thousands of Asians, many of *hom died.
Some of the Britons who worked on the “railway of death" will be at Saturday’s reunion
