Extensions To Plant (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE, October 21. Tom Piper, Ltd, maker and distributer of processed foods, was extending to its main plant at Garden City, near Melbourne, to provide one acre more of floor space, directors say in their report for the year to June. They added that sales of the company’s products showed a satisfactory increase on the home market during the year. Several new lines were well received and assisted in the continued expansion of the Australian market. Export Markets The company had been increasingly active in export markets after the Government’s export incentive scheme. Sales abroad had shown a marked improvement during the year and had contributed substantially to the result. Consolidated profit for the year, already announced, jumped from £140,063 to £152,000 and depreciation of £85,457 compared with £85,895 previously. The company had raised its ordinary dividend rate from 12} per cent to 17} per cent including a bonus dividend of 5 per cent, directors said.
