Synod Heard Snell’s Race
On a motion sponsored by the Bishop’ (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) the Christchurch Diocesan Synod went into a special committee session yesterday afternoon to hear P. G. Snell’s 1500 metre race in Tokyo. After Snell’s brilliant finish, for which he received his second Gold Medal of the 1964 games, the Synod addressed to him the following congratulatory cable: "Christchurch Diocesan Synod suspended its business to listen to your great run today and sends hearty congratulations to you and John Davies.”
