Geophysicist Returns

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 19. A German geophysicist, Dr. M. Hockstein, aged 32, who paid three visits to Antarctica when attached to the University of Wisconsin, on United States Navy missions from 1961-63, arrived this morning in the Southern Cross to settle in New Zealand. He said “the country just grew on him.” Dr. Hockstein, who was accompanied by his wife and two children, will work with the D.S.I.R.

Ambulance Station.—A new £ll,OOO ambulance station for the Northern Wairoa St. John Ambulance Brigade was officially opened in Dargaville on Saturday afternoon by Mr L. L. Paterson, of Dunedin, Chancellor of the Priory of New Zealand.—(P.A.)
