Overseas Issues Gain On Easier Market

Narrow gains by overseas issues were the only bright note on an otherwise easier and docile market, when trading opened for the week yesterday. Falls by New Zealand issues outnumbered rises almost two to one but price variations were narrow. Bank of New South Wales and New Zealand register both climbed 9d to 57s while in a first ex dividend sale, added 4d to 45s 6d. Sandford, after news of higher profit and expansion plans, rose 3d to 15s 6d.
