RING ROUND HER NECK

Campbell Is. Sealion (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct 19. A sealion with a rubber band round its neck has been discovered on Campbell Island, New Zealand’s subAntarctic weather station about 300 miles south of Bluff. The animal was found by the officer in charge of the meteorological station on the island, Mr J. Judd. In a letter to the director of the Dominion Museum (Dr. R. A. Falla) he says: “The animal did not seem to be worried by it and made no attempt to get it off while we were there.” “She probably took a dive through the rubber ring when she was a little smaller,” said Dr. Falla. “It will probably rot off, and seems to be elastic, so it is not incommoding her in any way.”
