Big Fall In Turnover

The Forbury Park Trotting Club probably experienced its least successful spring meeting since it changed to night trotting. On-course turn-over showed a sharp decrease when the last night of the meeting was held on Saturday. As on the first night the attendance was no doubt affected by a cold, easterly wind, and totalled only 7397.

On-course turn-over on Saturday amounted to £74,159 15s, including £8842 15s oil the double, compared with £101,098 10s last year, a decrease of £26,938 15s. The total for the two nights was £147,815 15s, compared with £193,173 10s, a drop of £45,357 15s. The return from off-eburse sources was much better. The total on Saturday was £107,643 ss, compared with £108,820, while the total for the two nights amounted to £220,862 ss, compared with £207,057 15s, an increase of £13,804 10s.
