Fijians Over-run By France, 21-3

PARIS, October 17. France beat the touring Fijian Rugby team by 21 points to 3 in Paris today. At half-time the score was 3-3.
In the second half France cut loose to win by three converted tries and two unconverted tries to a try.
It was the Fijians’ tenth and final match on their tour of Wales and France. They will play two games in British Coloumbia on their way home.
Some spectators gave the French team the slow handclap after an unimpressive display in the first half. France, fielding probably their strongest available side, were three points up after 10 minutes but Fiji equalised within two minutes. French confidence bordered on carelessness as they increased pressure and France failed to break through again before the interval. But there was no doubting France’s later superiority. C. Darrouy, the French left wing-three-quarter, and the centre, J. Capdouze, both scored two tries. J. Rupert, a forward, obtained the other
French try. The full-back. P. Dedieu, converted three tries and hit a post with another conversion attempt.
Suliosi Dauntitutu scored Fiji’s try. The Fijians were unable to produce the late rallies which were a feature of several of their earlier matches. They were as ready as France to fling the ball about, but once the Frenchman had curbed their initial exuberance they stamped their authority on the game with sound running and backing up. The Fijians’ tour record in Wales and France was: played 10, won three, drew one, lost six.
