Will Not ‘Harry’

The Liberal Party leader, Mr Jo Grimmond, made it clear today he did not intend to embarrass Britain’s new Labour Government unless they introduced proposals that seemed to him to be against public interest. “Harrying has now a rather specialised meaning in Parliament, and in that sense we would not want to harry them,” he told reporters at Orkney. Mr Grimmond thought a reasonable term of office for a government with a majority of four—such as the new Labour Government has—would be about a year.
