CENTENNIAL POOL

Season Opens Today

The Centennial Pool will open for the summer season today at 7 a.m.

“Work on the pool has reached the stage where the new stand and dressing rooms may now be used by the public,” said Mr H. G. Hay, chairman of the City Council baths committee. The entrance would be from Armagh street instead of Oxford terrace.

Mr Hay said it would be some time before the whole project, estimated to cost about £160,000, would be completed. As construction work on the north side of the pool, including the new cafeteria, would not be finished until Christmas the public would not be permitted to use this area in the meantime. The council had recently called for tenders for the

tenancy of the shop, but none had yet been received.
