Ellerslie Gallop
"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, October 4. The Caulfield and Melboure Cups candidate Gold Chick and the fine stayer On Purpose attracted considerable attention in a trial gallop over 10 furlongs after the last race at Ellerslie yesterday. Gold Chick, ridden by H. J. Jury, and On Purpose (Eastwood) galloped a mile and a quarter in 2min 14 l-ssec, the last mile in Imin 41 l-ssec and the last three furlongs strongly in 38 l-ssec. They were together, travelling boldly at the finish.
