Surfer Killed, Others Hurt (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Oct. 4. Sixty-mile-an-hour winds lashed Sydney and the New South Wales coast yesterday, causing one death, many injuries and widespread destruction. The winds continued today but were less severe, with gusts of 35. miles an hour being reported. In yesterday’s gale, a young surfboard rider was drowned off the sopth coast near Kiama, 73 miles south of Sydney. Two other surfboard riders, rescued by fishermen, were admitted to Kiama Hospital suffering from shock and immersion.
F.A.C. Year.—Farmers Co-op. Auctioneering Company, Ltd., Hamilton, increased its net profit by £13,439, or 27.3 per cent, to £71,826, subject to audit, in its latest year. Dividend is a steady 8 per cent, ex dividend October 30, Payable November 27.
