Durrani—routed Australia between lunch and tea to dismiss the side for XU on the -opening .day's play of the first test in Madras today. Australia, in the two-hour session. loot nine wickets for M runs, and was all out in the l*st over before tea. While the wicket had a lot of turn,' the Australians did not bat as well as they might. After the dismissal of W. M. Lawty and N. C. O'Neill the remaining seven batsmen fell after adding.only n runs. The rout reached its peak when Australia lost J. Martin, T. R. Velvers, and I. R.
