NEW PHONE CHARGES
(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. Revised telephone charges and rentals were gazetted today. They include the increased charge from 2d to 3d for a local call from a telephone booth. New charges for calls made from public boxes would take effect on Saturday in the Wellington area, the Post Office regional engineer (Mr J. C. Mclntosh) announced today. Modifications necessary for calls to be made with three pennies will begin today.
