Decision For Union
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. The Arbitration Court has found motion picture operators cannot be required to play recorded music and screen advertising slides in the half hour allowed for preparing the plant before a performance. The Court had .been asked to interpret a clause in the Motion Picture Operators’ Award which said all operators would be allowed half an hour before the start of the performance for preparation of the plant. The Motion Picture Projectionists’ Association and Lower Hutt Amusements, Ltd., asked if operators could be required to play recorded music and screen slides during this half hour. The employers’ representative on the Court, Mr Hewitt, dissented.
