' F MALVERN ELECTRIC POWER BOARD NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the Malvern Electric Power Board held the 16th day of September, W64, the following resolution was passed by way of Special Order AND THAT such resolution will be confirmed at a meeting of the said board to be held at the offices of the board at Darfield on Thursday, the 22nd day of October, 1964: In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 45 of the Electric Power Boards Act, 1925, the Malvern Electric Power Board (hereinafter called “the Board”) hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows: 1 The Board recommends that the Central Canterbury Electric Power District and the Malvern Electric Power District be united so as to form one district.

2. The Board further approves and recommends that the following provisions shall apply to such uniting of the said districts: (a) THAT the united district shall be known as the Central Canterbury Electric Power District. (b) THAT the assets and liabilities of each of the boards of the existing districts shall be taken over by the board for the united district at the values and amounts now appearing in the accounts and books of the respective existing boards. (c) THAT all employees of the existing boards continue to be employed by the board for the united district at rates of pay not less than the rate at present received by such employees provided that .the board for the united district may reserve the right to require such employees to serve in any part of such united district as may be required. (d) THAT the rate of charges for current to be made by the Board for the united district shall be made uniform over the whole of such district within a maximum period of five years. (e) THAT representation on the Board for the united district be as follows: Akaroa County, one member. Wairewa County, Mt. Herbert County, part Heathcote County and part Lyttelton Borough, one member. Ellesmere County and part Selwyn County, two members. Springs County, parts Baisweil County, part Malvern County, one member. Paparua .County, four members. Former Malvern Electric Power'District, one member.
