OPUA RAIL INQUIRY
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. The report of the committee of inquiry into the Opua rail crash will probably not be released until the Minister of Railways (Mr McAlpine) returns from overseas on October 16, the assistant General Manager of Railways (Mr I. Thomas) said today. He added that the taking of evidence has been completed, but the cleaning and testing of the second unit of the double unit locomotive, which was lifted out of mud near Opua last Thursday, had yet to be carried out.
