Japanese To Send Fishing Patrol

WELLINGTON, October 1.
The Japanese Government has decided to send a patrol ship, the 1200-ton Toko Maru, to supervise Japanese fishing boats working around New Zealand waters.
Announcing this tonight, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said the Japanese Government advised him that on September 29. it made the decision and expressed hope that this move would assist in preventing further intrusions. “I am glad to know that the
Japanese Government views . with seriousness, the further intrusions that have occurred, and is demonstrating in a 1 practical way its intention of ■ co-operating with the New I Zealand Government in this • matter,” said Mr Holyoake. The Toko Maru is a Japan- > ese Fisheries Board vessel.
