LITTLE RAIN THIS YEAR
“Driest Since 1915” With rainfall a little more than 12in, Christchurch this year has had its driest nine months since 1915. The average rainfall to the end of September is 20in. says the Meteorological Office’s summary of the weather for September. Last month was generally dry, sunny, and mild, apart from the first two days, which were cold and wet with half an inch of rain and some showers of snow and hail. Rainfall was less than half of normal. The maximum temperature was 72.4 degrees, on September 8. and the minimum temperature was 32.4 degrees on September 7. There were 155 hoursiof sunshine.
