Moscow Curt
(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) MOSCOW, October 1. The Soviet Union today sent a curt message to Peking congratulating the Chinese in the most frigid tones on the 15th anniversary of their regime, the Associated Press reported. The message, one of the coldest ever exchanged between Moscow and Peking, was published on the front page of the Soviet Communist Party daily, “Pravda.”
Fremantle Wool: Wool brokers reported a 98 per cent clearance of 11,000 bales on the second day of the Fremantle wool sales yesterday. Prices were unchanged on the opening day’s rates, which were 2J per cent below the last Fremantle sale.—Perth, October 1.
