THREE DAYS IN POOL
Kept Watching The Frogs (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Oct. 1. A post-graduate university student who lay for almost three days in an icy mountain pool, unable to move because.of serious injuries, said today frogs had kept his thoughts from death. “I just watched the frogs jumping and playing,” he said. “They became my good companions and I wasn’t even aware I was alone. “I didn’t think about death or anything else in particular. I just kept watching the frogs.” The injured man is Mr John O’Shea, aged 25, of Adelaide, who was rescued by a Navy helicopter yesterday from wild country near Nowra, on the south coast of New ■ South Wales. He is now in Prince Henry Hospital, Sydney, being treated for a fractured left leg, facial bruises and shock.
