FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A ridge of high pressure over the Tasman Sea is moving onto New Zealand. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate south-west winds becoming variable later; isolated showers clearing and weather fine; cool to moderate day temperatures. Outlook: fine. Nelson and Marlborough.—Moderate winds, mainly south-west or west; a few scattered showers at first this morning; otherwise weather mainly fine; moderate temperatures. Outlook: fine at first, showers later. Buller and Westland.—Fresh south-west winds decreasing slowly; occasional light showers, but increasing fine intervals; rather cool. Outlook: rain developing.
