Jayne Mansfield (I-Q. 164) Marries Director (L-Q. 164)

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) NEW YORK, Sept. 29. The Hollywood actress, Jayne Mansfield, made official today her secret Mexican wedding to the stage-director and former college wrestler, Matt Cimber. The blonde told a hastilycalled press conference in New York tonight: “I have married the most marvellous man in the world. This time it’s for keeps.” Miss Mansfield, who divorced the strong-man, Mickey Hartigay, in Mexico last year, revealed that she was wed on Thursday in tiny Mulage, in Mexico’s Baja California territory. “It was the first time in my life that nobody knew what I was doing, darlings,” she told reporters as she posed in a clinging black dress for television and newsreel photographers.

Miss Mansfield and Mr Cimber, whose real name is Thomas' Vitale Ottaviano, held hands and embraced each other fondly. Miss Mansfield said: “We are the' happiest couple in the world. 1 would like to be known as Mrs Ottaviano from now on. As you know I have four children, and we would both like two more.” Serious Actress She said she would now like to be known as a “serious dramatic actress.” “I would like to act in The Seagull” by Anton Chekov. love the play and the Russians have challenged me. They said 1 did not need acting talent with my natural physique. I would like to take up this challenge and show what I can do.” She described her image as a “sex symbol” as “banal in comparison to everything that happens in the world where the only thing that matters is happiness.” Miss Mansfield said her husband had an I.Q. of 165. She said her I.Q. was 164. “Rabbit Habit” Mr Cimber said: “I was first drawn to Jayne because of her mind—her creative mind. She is not what everybody supposes. She is not the dumb blonde. I suppose I was surprised like everyone else.”

He said that Miss Mansfield would star in a play he was producing which opens in Milwaukee on October 27. He said the play was entitled ‘The Rabbit Habit.” It was Miss Mansfield’s third marriage. She had three children by Hartigay and a

fourth by an earlier marriage. It was Cimber’s first marriage.
