Drying Out
(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, Sept. 28. Where once there were seven thriving hotels in the Denniston-Burnetts Face area there is now no licensed premises to serve the rapidlydiminishing population.
When the Mount Rochfort Hotel, the latest of the seven, was destroyed by fire some months ago the licensee, Mr R. McKinnon, set up temporary premises in the old police house which had been vacant for some time after the closing of the Denniston station, The licensee was required by the West Coast Licensing Committee to carry out requisitions to put the building in proper order and when no action was taken, the licence was cancelled and the premises closed.
