Control, Pancho Boy In Double

Two failures on the first night—both were unplaced—Control and Pancho Boy won their respective legs of the T.A.B. double at the second night of the Wellington Trotting Club’s meeting at Hutt Park last night. The double for £1 was £l3O 10s.

The total amount handled by the Totalisator Agency Board on the meeting Was £142,023.55, made up of win and place, £67,459 and double £74,564 ss, the Press Association reported. The off-course substitute was Spencer. Control Takes Over Control broke at the start of the Worthy Queen Handicap. There was a neck to White World, a length to Pohutukawa and Astralight and two lengths to Snow Globe, followed by Oro Brigade, Scotleigh,' Little Smoke and All Bey, Second Leg Vlctura broke at the start of the Moera Handicap and Flying Alisa lost all chance. Spencer led out from Tutankhamen, with Cindy Lee next, theft Maggie Spangler, Aero Scott, Vlctura (inner), Pancho Boy, Miriam Hall and Ahtimai. Maggie Spangler (pulling) joined Spencer at the six furlongs and they led on the final lap with the order behind unchanged. Along the. back the field bunched. Pancho Boy and Ahumai made runs and on the home turn it was Spencer, Pancho Boy and Tutankhamen, then Maggie Spangler, Ahumai, Spring Garrison and Miriam Hall. Pancho Boy went clear and won by a length and threequarters from Tutankhamen, with a length and a half to Spencer. . There were two lengths to Miriam Hall and Ahumai, Victura.
