Surprise In Loose Box

"The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL, Sept 29. An Invercargill owner, Mr R. H. Henley, who was a buyer at the last National Standardbred Sales at Addington last March, secured a filly there by Johnny Globe from Titania, a good class race mare, for 210gns. The filly had been rugged during the winter and also boxed. She had- also thrived—but to her owner’s surprise when he went into her loose box yesterday morning she had a colt at foot The filly, a two-year-old, is good-sized and her colt foal would do credit to a much more mature matron. It is believed that the sire of the foal is a colt by Aksarben. The Johnny Globe filly was to have been put into work. But these plans have had to be altered meantime.
