Shrub Thieves Active
Complaints about the theft of plants and shrubs from private gardens, particularly in Fendalton and Bryndwr, have been made almost daily to the police. Last week, 52 shrubs were stolen from the Hawkins road nursery of Llewellyn J Mitchell and Company, Ltd. The shrubs, taken during the night, were apparently carefully selected. The firm has offered a reward of £lO for information leading to the conviction of the offender. “Conifers, flowering cherries. camellias and magnolias and many other shrubs were taken,” a representative of the firm said.
