Land Ballot Priorities
(Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. The Minister of Lands (Mr Gerard) told Mr D. Maclntyre (Govt., Hastings) in Parliament today he would look into the possibility of priorities in ballots for Crown land. Mr Maclntyre suggested some slight priority should be given to the man who had been unsuccessful in ballots over the years and had a wife and family. Mr Gerard agreed there was some justification for the case put forward by Mr MacIntyre. A man with the necessary finance and experience could miss ballots year after year.
