Saved Queen, Coward Role
(N.Z P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Sept 28. Marti Stevens, the 29-year-old American actress who gave asylum to Queen Frederika of the Hellenes when she was pursued by demonstrators in London last year, is to appear in Noel Coward’s new musical, “High Spirits,” which opens a provincial run next week.
She will replace the British actress, Fenella Fielding, who left the show at the end of last week after three weeks’ rehearsals. These are now going on day and night to get Miss Stevens ready for the part in time for the opening at Oxford.
