EVANS RISKS RETURN
Leading City In Final The Canterbury soccer captain, G. Evans, will lead his club, Christchurch City, in the final of the English Cup against Rangers at English Park on Saturday. Evans will be playing his first game for five weeks, since he broke his nose in a clash of heads with the New Brighton centre-forward, N. Robinson. The English Cup final is the last match of the soccer season. Evans will be returning a week before his doctor’s orders allowed. “I know I will be taking a bit of a chance, but I shall take in easy,” he said. An added inducement for Evans to play will be the opportunity to lead City to its third senior championship of the season. The club has already won the Hurley shield and the O'Brien’s tournament.
