ROAD RACE ENTRIES

Top Riders From Aust. (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept 29. Australia’s top road cyclist, T. Delaney (Victoria), will take part in the Dulux six-day Auckland-to-Welling-ton cycle race, from November 2 to 7, the race organiser (Mr A. A. Pennington) confirmed today. Delaney would head one of the strongest Australian contingents to compete in the event said Mr Pennington. Other Australian entries were M. Powell, D. Gee, and C. Appleby, all of Victoria. Negotiations to bring a top Italian rider here for the event had proved unsuccessful.

The New Zealand Olympic Games team—L. J. Byers, A. Candy, R. D. Johnstone, D. R. Thomson and M. Grace—would also be racing. A record 41 cyclists were expected to compete, said Mr Pennington.
