NEW CHAIRMAN ELECTED
Heathcote County Council Mr C. D. Le Comte was last evening elected chairman of the Heathcote County Council. He replaces Mr J. C. Hollis who, for health reasons, is on six months’ leave. In a ballot with Cr. C. M. A. Thompson, Cr. J. S. Scott was elected deputy chairman by four votes to three. Both Mr Le Comte and Cr. Scott have been members of the council for eight years. Mr Le Comte is a Hillsborough riding member and Cr Scott Heathcote.
