S.E. Asia Trade
The Secretary-General of S.E.A.T.O. (Mr Konthi Suphamongkhon) said in Christchurch that he was amazed that a closer economic trade organisation had not developed among the eight member nations since it was founded 10 years ago. He urged that the causes for this lack of trade development be discovered and that ways and means be investigated of promoting closer economic co-operation. In an address to the Christchurch Busiriessmen’s Association he said he was pleased to see five city businessmen present who were about to embark on a trade mission to South-east Asia. •
