Tennis Assoc. To Meet
The management committee of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association will meet again soon to discuss a further request from the national association for a change in the dates of the New Zealand championships. Last week the Canterbury association said it was not keen for a change in dates. Both committees met on Monday evening but the Canterbury committee did not know then the new request would be made. The national body has asked again because of the Federation Cup international women’s tournament in Melbourne. The New Zealand team, to which expenses have been offered, is wanted there by January 12. The present dates for the New Zealand titles are January 9 to 17. Approaches will be made by the New Zealand association to the 10 ranked players and to the former national champion, Mrs R. Davy, formerly Miss R. Morrison, to see if they are available for the Australian trip.
