Service Party Arrives
(N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 10. First impressions were usually the most accurate, said Admiral Sir Deric Hol-land-Martin, commandant of the Imperial Defence College, in Auckland today. He arrived at Whenuapai this afternoon with a party of 16 senior service and civil officers from the college to study New Zealand’s economic and defence problems in eight days. It is Sir Deric Holland-Mar-tin’s first trip to New Zealand, and his second tour With the college; his first was as a student. He took up his position early this year ■ after being commander-in-chief, Mediterranean, since 1961. The party will visit New Zealand military camps, navy and air force stations, the Wairakei geothermal project and fly over the Benmore hydro-electric scheme, as well as meet manufacturers and political leaders.
