“Fathers' Night” Party
The Shirley branch of the League of Mothers held a combined fourteenth birthday party and “Fathers’ Night” at the Shirley Hall recently, attended by about 220. Mrs J. Williamson presided. Mr J. Jeffrey gave a talk on his work in the police force in England. Items were given by the branch choir and drama groups, led by Mesdames A. Andrews and D. Cunliffe. Mrs M. Blackburn sang vocal solos. The birthday cake was cut by the provincial president (Mrs H. Pruden).
