Lead Fluctuates In Basketball

The lead alternated frequently during the game, and twice in the last half-minute, when Wellington beat Otago, 44-43, in a key match of the national women’s indoor basketball tournament in Masterton today. Other results were:—ln an A grade fixture Southland beat Hawera by 42 points to 28. A Grade.—Wairarapa 39, Nelson 34; Wanganui 32, Palmerston North 26. Reserve A Grade.—Tauranga 50, North Taranaki 43; Hutt Valley 47, Feilding 23; Southland 42. Hawera 28.
