Aust. Wool Up Again
(N Z. Press Assn.—Copuright) SYDNEY, Sept. 9. Values for all descriptions continued to strengthen on the second day of the Newcastle wool sales today when competition became firmer and widespread. Japan, the Continent and Great Britain were the principal operators, with good support from eastern Europe and, at times, local mills. Rates for Merino fleece and skirtings moved in sellers’ favour, with broader qualities receiving especially keen demand. Comebacks, crossbreds and cardings remained fully firm, any change also being in sellers’ favour, when compared with the first day’s prices.
