BOOK BAN EXTENDED
(N.Z. Press Association* AUCKLAND, Sept. 8. The Education Department has extended its ban on “Washday at the Pa” by deciding that the bulletin, if issued by a private publisher, will not be eligible for subsidy or approved for school purchase. Announcing this, the teachers’ journal, “National Education,” says Whitcombe and Tombs had abandoned its plan to publish the booklet because of this limitation of their expected market. The author, Miss Ans Westra, told the journal she was negotiating with other firms for republication.
