Canterbury Frozen Meat Reach 51s
Canterbury Frozen Meat gained 3s 9d to sell at a peak 51s in Christchurch sales yesterday, while Meat Packers in first sales since news of merger talks with New Zealand Refrigerating rose 6d to 8s 6d. Porter Motors rose a further Is 3d to 27s 3d, Baillie Motors at 10s 4d gained 4d, while Wilson and Horton at 36s 9d and Whitcombe and Tombs at 38s both rose 6d. Advances by overseas issues gave a lift to the market in yesterday’s trading and New Zealand rises kept ahead of falls.
