San Francisco Opera’s Plan
Sixteen operas will be presented in the San Francisco Opera's 1964 season which opens this month with "Otello.” The repertory includes Shostako vlch’s "Katerina Ismailova." which will be given its American premiere. In honour of the centenary of Richard Strauss's birth, "ber Rosenkavaller" and "Die Frau ohne Schatten" will be presented. The other operas scheduled are "Fldello.” "The Bartered Bride.” "Parsifal," "11 Trovatore.” "Nabucco," "La Traviata,” "Turandot,” "Gianni Schicchi.” "I Pagliaccl.” "Car mlna Burana." "Le None di Figaro," "Carmen," and "Alda.” The company will spend November in Los Angeles.
