AN AGENA-D TARGET VEHICLE similar to the one which will rendezvous in orbit with the third manned Gemini spacecraft late next year. This pre-production model is shown mounted in a test stand for extensive checking to ensure that it would operate correctly when coupled with the Gemini in orbit. The main engine will be fired at least five times in succession to demonstrate its ability to restart whenever the Gemini pilot wants a push to alter his orbit.
