Group Sales Exceed £s.Bm Group sales of Lane Walker Rudkin Industries Ltd., Christchurch-based manufacturers of knitwear, hosiery, sportswear and tailored clothing, exceeded £s.Bm in the year to June 19, says the chairman of directors (Mr A. H. Lee) in the annual report. All subsidiaries operated profitably. Net profit is confirmed at £275,085—a rise of £19,929 or 7.8 per cent on last year’s. It is after providing £159.567 (up £35.162) for depreciation and £264.896 (up £lO,062) for taxation. Earning rate on shareholders’ funds up £260,111 at £1,963,775 slipped to 14 per cent from 15 per cent. Dividend Steady As announced, dividend is a steady 12| per cent and takes £144,125 against £125,000 last year. Issued capital is £160,000 higher at £1,160,000. After a transfer of £lOO,OOO to general reserves which stand at £550,000, carry-for-ward is £65,926 against £45,664 brought in.. Interest on mortgages, including bank advances and debentures, is £10,682 higher at £38,681.
