‘SMALL BUT LETHAL’
Bomb Range Souvenirs The Army believes that some projectiles souvenired from Waiouru Military Camp could be in Christchurch. They will be 20 mm. projectiles about 3in long, like the one which exploded and injured a man in New Plymouth. A warning has been sent out in case other national servicemen souvenired similar projectiles from the bombing range at Waiouru. Lieutenant Colonel R- JMoor, the Southern Military District Chief of Staff, said vesterday that anyone who knew the location of any such projectiles should notify ;the notice or the Army, i “They are small but ! lethal.” he said. “They have ian exploder device in the nose. and this could have been I upset hv the impact of landing. The souvenirs will be I duds but they could easily [explode."
