Forecast: Canterbury.—North-westerlies, fresh to strong in some inland areas, spreading to the coast at times, but moderating later; mainly cloudy; rain in the alps; scattered light falls elsewhere; mild day temperatures. Marlborough.—North-westerlies, strong in exposed areas; scattered rain about the Sounds this morning and some rain likely elsewhere this afternoon or evening; moderate temperatures. Nelson.—Fresh northerlies, tending westerly later; cloudy, with rain developing this morning probably clearing again later, apart from showers in the ranges; moderate day temperatures.
