AID FOR CYPRUS

The pledge was made in a joint communique issued after week-end talks with President Makarios. The communique, broadcast by Radio Cairo, said the United Arab Republic considered any attack on Cyprus and interference it its affairs constituted “a violation of peace in the area and of United Nations principles.” The broadcast did not give details of any Egyptian aid for Cyprus.
