“Minister Was Misreported” The Associate Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Shelton) was misreported in the Christchurch newspapers in a statement on wheat prices, the chairman of United Wheat-growers (N.Z.), Ltd. (Mr C. T. A. Ward), told the council of the Dominion agricultural section of Federated Farmers yesterday. The Minister was reported as saying that there had been an increase in wheat prices to all growers two years ago, and all growers were now receiving IBs fid a bushel. Mr Shelton denied ho had said this, and said he had stated that South Island growers had received no increase since 1958 and wore at present receiving 13s fid a bushel for most varieties, Mr Ward said. The price for Arawa was 13s 4d a bushel. Mr Ward said he made this statement to correct the Impression given in the newspapers.
